I honestly wasn't expecting this to be as interesting or as large as it was. They had a great visitor center with displays and artifacts to look at. The employees in the visitor center were friendly … Full review by Voyage54672979166

The sidewalk from the parking lot to the lodge is flat concrete, but there is a gradual slope down and up again. The entrance to the lodge is very narrow, so I don't know if a wheelchair could fit inside. The remainder of the trails are dirt and grass. There is also a boardwalk through wetlands, but I don't recall if they have any stairs. But, all of the mounds can be viewed from the road and parking areas and there are interpretive signs adjacent to the lot. The visitor center is very good and is accessible. I recommend a visit even if you can't get to the top of the mounds. You'll miss some good views, but that's all. Call ahead if you are interested. The park rangers were very helpful and should be able to answer any more questions.
Should be open for standard hours 9am-5pm. The NPS website only has it closed on their calendar for Dec 25th to Jan 1st. Please call (478) 752-8257 x222 to make sure.
