There are two currencies used in Cuba. The CUP (Cuban Peso/Dollar) is used by the local population only. The other currency used by tourists is the CUC. The two currencies are not interchangeable. When you get to Cuba you will have to exchange your US$ to Cuban CUC. The Cuban Government have set the price of 1 x CUC to equal the price of 1 x US$. But because of the bad relationship between the US and Cuba there is a 10% surcharge on all US currency exchanges you would only get 0.90 CUC to your US$. My advice would be to take Canadian Dollars with you, rather than US Dollars to exchange. Then you won't pay the surcharge, although you will have to pay a charge for buying Canadian Dollars in the first place I suppose. We paid CUC 14 for 1 litre of Havana Club 7 at the museum. That equates to US$ 14. Sorry can't tell you how much Havan Club 3 was. Eating out is not expensive. Expect to pay CUC 10 per person for two courses including drinks for dinner
I don't believe there is any cost associated with the tour. It's a business that sells cigars, but also provides you demonstration on how they are made, various types of cigars, etc.
