The Elbphilharmonie is quite impressive. The glass structure sitting on top of a brick building is also unique. It is nice to enjoy it from the harbor area as well as from a tour boat. You can pay 3 … Full review by Karim M

According to the official website, for sold out performance, "Remaining tickets occasionally available at box office 90 minutes before start of event." I'm curious if anyone has had success in obtaining tickets this way, and if there's any tip you can share to increase the chance of getting tickets. Thanks!!

Trip update: I was able to get tickets to the sold out Kammermusikfest concert by showing up at the ticket office 90 minutes before the concert. All I had to do was to wait in line for less than 20 minutes. And it was well worth the extra effort as the beauty and acoustic of the Grosser Saal was simply stunning. I also attended a different concert at the Kleiner Saal on the same day and it was equally fantastic too. The shoebox style hall, while not as grand as the Grand Hall, was more intimate and the acoustic was very responsive. I had a very engaging experience at the well named Recital Hall.
Is there a dress code for evening symphony concert at Elbphilharmonie?

Sorry I didn't attend a concert there, but in general Germans dress smart casual for concerts. I would suggest dark slacks and a dress shirt for a man and a dress/ skirt with heels for a woman. You can go dressier too, with a suit and an evening dress if you want to be on the safe side.

Unfortunately for tourists no extra daily tickets for performances are available. Apparently their web site is the most up to date place to purchase tickets: When we were there in May, evening performances were booked out till August. It may be worth giving their Office a call when you are in Hamburg to see if any tickets have been handed in for when you want to go.
