"Spaceballs 2" has officially been announced. And with it returns fan-favorite actor Rick Moranis, who hasn't been seen in a theatrical film since 2003.

Rick Moranis is officially coming out of retirement as he is confirmed to reprise his role in Spaceballs 2. The 80s icon has been on an acting hiatus for the last few decades and has rarely made public appearances. His last live-action movie prior to his retirement was in the 1997 direct-to-video film Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves.

While this isn't Moranis' first sequel, the Spaceballs follow-up's 2027 arrival will bring Moranis back to the screen for the first time in 31 years. May the Schwartz be with him in his anticipated theatrical return.
