Weeks before ICE raided a Home Depot in Westlake on Friday, the White House ordered the agency to ramp up sweeps to help meet President Trump’s deportation targets.

The Los Angeles suburb of Glendale, California, canceled a longstanding contract to house federal immigration detainees at a local police department facility, citing rising public controversy over the arrangement.

Ahead of his arrival at the White House, Trump on social media stood by his decision to send the National Guard to Los Angeles. He also argued that Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass were not grateful enough for his assistance, despite both officials stating that Trump’s move escalated the violence.

The City of Glendale announced it was ending its agreement with Homeland Security and ICE to hold detainees in its jail.

The Trump administration has reportedly paused a $47 million plan to expand an immigration detention center in Georgia because the deal is under review by DOGE, Elon Musk ’s federal cost-cutting program.
