The White Sox optioned first baseman Tim Elko to Triple-A Charlotte and added the newly acquired Ryan Noda to the major league roster.

The challenge for Noah Schultz, the No. 1 left-handed pitching prospect in the game and the No. 1 White Sox prospect (per MLB Pipeline) seemingly grew a little tougher as he was promoted to Triple-A Charlotte Friday,

Vaughn finished his Sox tenure with a -0.4 WAR. The team had a stretch from 2015 to 2019 in which it drafted pitcher Carson Fulmer, catcher Zack Collins, infielder Nick Madrigal and Vaughn in the top 10. None of those players is with the organization.

BOTTOM LINE: The Texas Rangers host the Chicago White Sox on Friday to begin a three-game series. Texas has a 33-36 record overall and a 20-13 record in home games. Rangers pitchers have a collective 3.17 ERA, which ranks second in MLB play.
