The U.N. Human Rights Office for Palestinian territories said it appeared the casualties were a result of Israeli gunfire.

The U.N. yesterday criticized Israel’s new aid operation in Gaza as the country faced mounting anger from Europe over the war and growing pressure from the U.S. to reach a truce.

However, more than 400 loads were on the Gazan side of the Kerem Shalom crossing awaiting distribution by the UN as of Tuesday evening, according to the Israeli military body in charge of aid co-ordination, Cogat. It called on the UN to "do its job".
