DETROIT -- Tarik Skubal threw the first complete game and shutout of his career, leading the Detroit Tigers to a 5-0 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday afternoon at Comerica Park.
On Saturday, Cleveland won its fifth straight game against the Tigers between regular season and postseason play. Amazingly, the Guardians' 7–5 10-inning victory tied the all-time series at 1,161 games apiece. Kyle Manzardo started the 10th with a double into the left field corner off Brenan Hanifee (2-2) to score Ramirez, the automatic runner at second, for a 4-3 lead. After Carlos Santana walked, Angel Martinez doubled to score Manzardo. A sacrifice fly by Bo Naylor and single by Nolan Jones ended the scoring.
