You have one more chance to catch Colman Domingo’s award-winning movie Sing Sing in theaters—now that the hit A24 film has been re-released nationwide. In a historic move, A24 is showing the film simultaneously in cinemas and correctional facilities.

Back in the 1950s and ’60s, actors were regularly introduced as “star of stage, screen, and television,” but these days there are precious few film or TV stars willing to take that scary leap to the stage.

The actor discusses the West Philly musicians that inspired his style; the rejection that nearly made him quit show business; and the experience of making “Sing Sing” with former members of a prison theatre troupe.

Along with a return to theaters on Jan. 17, the 2025 Golden Globe nominated film, "Sing Sing," will be shown in 1,100 correctional facilities across the country to over one million incarcerated individuals, according to an A24 press release obtained by TODAY.com.
