Romance isn’t a huge component of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but it does exist. You’ll naturally come across some romance options in the main story and via companion missions. Romance, then, is just a matter of knowing what to say — and when to say it.

Assassin's Creed Shadows has been wading through one controversy after another since long before launch, and the most recent one seems to be about one of Yasuke's romance options in-game.

In particular, it's Shadows' romance system that's caught the eye of these seemingly obsessive users. Both playable characters, Naoe and Yasuke, are able to enter romantic relationships with specific, secondary members of the cast — and it's all entirely optional, just like it was in Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
