ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys were officially eliminated from the playoff contention before they kicked off Sunday night. They then went out and made owner Jerry Jones proud, with a 26-24 victory over the playoff-chasing Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Cowboys found out they were eliminated from postseason contention and that they would miss the playoffs for the first time since the 2020 season when the Washington Commanders reached their 10th win of the season with their 36-33 comeback victory over the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday afternoon.
