United Airlines says it will cancel dozens of Newark flights per day after this week's delays and FAA staffing problems.

Hundreds of flights were canceled or delayed at Newark Liberty International Airport over the weekend and again on Monday as shortages of air traffic controllers persists, causing flight disruptions at one of the nation’s busiest airports.

Nearly 300 flights into and out of Newark Airport in New Jersey were delayed or cancelled Monday morning as the international transit hub continued to struggle with a shortage of air traffic controllers, as well as inclement weather, federal transportation officials said.
