Senate President Ben Albritton and House Speaker Daniel Perez have issued a joint proclamation convening a special session of the legislature, starting at noon tomorrow, to consider bills to assist the federal government in enforcing immigration law.

Legislative leaders said the new session was called "for the exclusive purpose of passing legislation to combat illegal immigration."

Florida lawmakers will meet in another special session this week to pass a package of bills targeting illegal immigration — with Gov. Ron DeSantis’ support.
