Normally, NBA locker rooms are open to reporters for a 45-minute window pregame, but on Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors raised alarm bells that they might have a deal imminent on the eve of the NBA trade deadline when they kicked all the reporters out so that Steve Kerr could address the team privately ahead of their matchup with the Utah Jazz.

Following their trade for Jimmy Butler, the Golden State Warriors owe their 2025 first-round pick to the Miami Heat if it falls between pick 11 and pick 30. Otherwise, they retain it and send them their 2026 first-round pick.

Golden State is sending Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson and a protected first-round draft pick to Miami in a four-team deal, which concludes a hostile breakup between Butler and the Heat.
