On paper, the 2024 draft class looked loaded. And it hasn't disappointed. Who were the top first-year players in the NFL this season?

The Commanders’ quarterback has lifted Washington to the playoffs, while nine other first-year pros put their stamp on the regular season.

Jayden Daniels was the clear-cut best first- or second-year quarterback during the 2024 NFL season. Caleb Williams played better than you might think, C.J. Stroud had a disappointing campaign by his standards and Bryce Young had one of the most remarkable in-season turnarounds I've ever seen at the quarterback position.

That includes four members of the 2018 draft class: Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. This is the fifth time that four QBs from the same draft class started in the same postseason, with the 2018 class also doing it last season, when Mason Rudolph got the nod instead of Darnold.

This weekend will bring the return of the Washington Commanders to the postseason. Last season, the franchise posted a 4-13 and continued a cycle of mediocrity.
