JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Three Palestinians were killed and scores more injured by an Israeli air strike in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin on Wednesday, the Palestinian Red Crescent said. The Israeli military said it had conducted a strike in the area of Jenin but did not give further details.

Thousands attended on Wednesday the funeral procession for six Palestinians killed in an Israeli airstrike in the occupied West Bank. Mourners waved Palestinian flags and chanted slogans condemning Israeli atrocities in the occupied territories as they marched to bury the six men in the northern city of Jenin, witnesses said.

At least six Palestinians were killed and several were injured on Tuesday in an Israeli strike on Jenin in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, a statement by the Palestinian health ministry said. The ministry said the injured were in stable condition,

The Palestinian Authority (PA), which exercises limited self-government in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, launched operation “Protect the Homeland” in early December with a focus on the sprawling refugee camp in the heart of Jenin, a city long associated with militant resistance.

A month into a crackdown by Palestinian security forces on militants in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, the streets of Jenin refugee camp are deserted, except for a few residents briefly checking on their homes.
