Oklahoma State junior Preston Stout, the medalist in stroke-play qualifying and the No. 4-ranked amateur, became the only player from the top 10 to advance at the U.S. Amateur.

Both of those rounds were held Thursday. In the Round of 32, the highlights included John Daly II's advancement to the Round of 16 but also the defeat of two of the top ams in the world. Among those advancing to the quarterfinals out of the Round of 16 include a Cinderella story in the making and a local favorite with incredible crowd support.
