Actor Julia Garner has opened up about how she landed the role of Madonna in the forthcoming queen of pop biopic. Auditions for the film took place in February 2022, with potential actors reportedly taking part in a “bootcamp” overseen by Madonna herself.

During a recent interview on the SmartLess podcast, the actress was asked by hosts Will Arnett, Sean Hayes and Jason Bateman for a status update on where the shelved Universal biopic stands, to which she responded, “Yeah, I mean, that’s supposed to still happen.”
