The senators referenced the 2006 Warm Fire, another lightning-caused fire on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon that was initially allowed to burn as a wildland use fire. The Warm Fire ultimately destroyed 59,000 acres of land and nearly killed a thousand people.

After visiting the site of the Dragon Bravo Fire over the weekend, Gov. Katie Hobbs has travelled to Washington, D.C., to meet with federal officials about efforts to fight and prevent wildfires in Arizona.

The Dragon Bravo Fire devastated over 70 structures at the Grand Canyon's North Rim, with only 8% containment.

Governor Katie Hobbs took a helicopter tour to survey damages from the Dragon Bravo Fire and the White Sage Fire, both burning near the Grand Canyon.
