The Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver made NFL history with a jaw-dropping performance against the Houston Texans, solidifying his place among the league’s brightest stars.

Ladd McConkey and the Los Angeles Chargers battled C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans on Saturday night for a spot in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs.

Former Georgia Bulldog and current Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey just etched his name in the history books.

The Chargers have found themselves a special player in rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey. The Chargers' second-round pick out of Georgia already had the best rookie season by a wide receiver in franchise history and now capped off the final game of his rookie campaign by breaking an NFL record.

McConkey caught nine passes for 197 yards in the game, breaking the record for most receiving yards by a rookie in a playoff game. The record was held by Puka Nacua, who just set it last year when he had 181 yards receiving against the Detroit Lions.

In the Chargers 32-12 wild card loss to the Texans, rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey set a bit of league history for himself although it may not go a long way in making him feel better about the outcome.
