The staff reduction at the Carlsbad park comes as Legoland looks to restructure how it produces and staffs shows throughout the year.

The theme park confirmed the layoffs via an emailed statement, saying that the layoffs are due to operational changes and that the affected positions would be a mixture of seasonal and permanent employees.

A Legoland spokeswoman said the park planned on working with a third party "to bolster our entertainment provision during seasonal special events."
