An Austin Police Department officer has been placed on administrative leave following a shooting that happened in Lockhart over the weekend, the agency said in a news release Wednesday. Police said they shot their department-approved firearm during the shooting.

A man accused of shooting someone, barricading himself inside a Lockhart home, and being shot by an Austin police SWAT officer, has been identified.

A man is facing aggravated assault charges after police say he shot someone, then fled and barricaded himself inside a home in Lockhart.

The Austin Police Department's SWAT assisted the Lockhart Police Department after a barricaded subject turned into an officer-involved shooting in the 900 block of 1st Street on Saturday.

APD SWAT was dispatched to assist after a suspect barricaded themselves in a building in the 900 block of First Street.
