Sony may have spoiled the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta, though the story beats will be very familiar to anyone who played the original.

The release date for arguably one of the most anticipated games around has emerged, albeit in low-key fashion. According to an apparent leak on the PlayStation Store — perhaps about as official as you can get without a splashy announcement elsewhere — Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is set to arrive on August 28.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is the first game from the franchise since 2018's Meta Gear Survive, and it's a remake of the original 2004 game. Not only does the new version include updated visuals comparable to modern games, but it will also have various quality-of-life improvements while staying faithful to the original.
