There have been three homicides in Minneapolis since Friday morning, according to police. The first homicide happened early Friday near Franklin Avenue and Lyndale Avenue. Police arrived to the area around 2:30 a.m. and found a man with life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries.
Police are investigating a second fatal shooting in south Minneapolis on Saturday, which MPD Chief Brian O'Hara said was a "brazen" daylight killing. The latest shooting happened at Lake Street and Grand Avenue South just after 1 p.m., with police arriving to find a man in his 40s gravely wounded.
