Longtime manager Peter Vermes is out at Sporting Kansas City. The MLS club announced Monday that it “mutually agreed to part ways” with Vermes after nearly two decades and with Sporting KC chasing its first win since mid-September of last season.

Manager Peter Vermes and Sporting KC parted ways on Monday morning following the team’s 0-5-1 start to the season. It came hours after the KC Cauldron and South Stands Supporters Club released a statement calling on Vermes to resign. It’s an end of the era in Kansas City soccer and Major League Soccer.
