A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Russia’s Kuril Islands, just a week after the country experienced an 8.8 magnitude quake.

Aftershocks continued to rattle Russia's Far East on Thursday, one day after a mighty earthquake struck off the country's Kamchatka peninsula, triggering tsunami alerts for millions of residents along the Pacific.

Russia's massive quake has already triggered at least 10 aftershocks, and could continue for months, according to scientists.
