The state of Texas may have just experienced its longest-track tornado in nearly 30 years. While the National Weather Service is still surveying damage from the tornado, all indications are that it touched down Saturday with a path length of at least 85 miles, and probably closer to 100 miles.

A tornado that touched down in Brazoria County, Texas, struck some homes and other structures on Saturday, the authorities said. It was a day of tornado warnings in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

Power remained out to more than 200,000 homes and businesses Sunday in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
