FIFA President Gianni Infantino has described the Club World Cup as "historic", "a new era for club football", "transformative" and "inclusive". High ticket prices is the first big issue deterring fans from attending games and the most often heard complaint.

The tournament features some of soccer's biggest stars, like Lionel Messi and iconic teams like Spain's Real Madrid.

According to The Athletic, FIFA has resorted to slashing prices because ticket sales have been so lackluster. Last week, it was reported that the opening match had fewer than 20,000 tickets sold in the 65,000-seat stadium.
