Firefighters are racing to contain a new wildfire that has erupted close to homes in the area of Calabasas and Hidden Hills, northwest of Los Angeles, on Thursday afternoon. The Kenneth Fire was first reported around 2:30 p.

The arrest occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Ybarra Road, just south of the fire’s origin, after local residents reportedly spotted the suspect attempting to ignite a blaze. The residents detained him until police arrived, with photos shared on the Citizen app showing officers surrounding the scene where the man was taken into custody.

An arson suspect was arrested in connection to the Kenneth fire on Thursday and is being questioned by the Los Angeles Police Department, several media outlets reported, citing sources. Locals in the area shared photos of officers detaining the alleged arsonist in the Woodland Hills area.
