Audi looks poised to join in on the extreme off-road segment with its latest EV SUV concept. Known as the Audi Q6 E-Tron Off-Road, this portal axle-rocking beast takes things far beyond the brand’s typical Allroad treatment.

Giving this off road-focused concept vehicle even more capability is a set of exceedingly aggressive-looking Venom Power Terra Hunter R/T tires. These rubber doughnuts are also fitted with studs for enhanced traction on icy surfaces.

Audi has shown an increased interest in off-roaders in recent years, and after winning the Dakar Rally in 2024, it fits its newest EV SUV with portal axles.

Audi has revealed a new dual-motor electric off-road vehicle concept based on the Q6 E-tron that looks ready for a snowpocalypse. The automaker built a working prototype that lifts the vehicle by 6.3 inches and widens it by 9.8 inches, giving it a stance that wouldn’t be out of place if it appeared in Truck Country, USA.

The Q6 E-Tron Off-Road concept is based on the sleeker Q6 Sportback E-Tron body style. Currently, only the regular Q6 E-Tron is available to order in the U.S. It's available for the 2025 model year and is priced from $65,095, including a $1,295 destination charge.

More than just off-road tires and a lift kit, this Audi EV prototype can theoretically climb 100-percent grades.

Audi teased a more rugged EV in 2023 with the Activesphere concept, which was based on the same Premium Platform Electric (PPE) as the Q6 E-Tron. PPE, which brings high-power charging hardware pioneered in the Audi E-Tron GT to more EVs, is also shared with the A6 E-Tron sedan and the electric version of the Porsche Macan.
