ABU DHABI (Reuters) - Abu Dhabi will host the final four of the EuroLeague basketball's 2024-25 season in May, the continental competition said on Tuesday. Spanish outlet El Pais reported that Abu Dhabi paid $25 million to outbid other contenders and secure the rights to host the culmination of the competition's 25th season.

This arrangement strategically combines the new market of Abu Dhabi and the Middle East with the EuroLeague’s traditional pan-European venues. The Final Four will mark Euroleague Basketball’s second experience in the Middle East, following the successful Adidas NextGen Tournament Qualifier hosted in Dubai last season.

Abu Dhabi will host the EuroLeague basketball's 2024-25 final four in May, after paying $25 million to secure the rights. The semi-finals and finals will be held at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena, marking the city as the second non-European location to host the event.

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), Euroleague Basketball, and Etihad Arena have partnered to host the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four in Abu Dhabi for the first time.
