Cam Skattebo has been added to a lawsuit by a former Arizona State football player stemming from a golf cart accident in 2023.

The suit states that the Sun Devils' football program had previously been instructed about the "proper use of golf carts" and informed that the rear seats had a limit of 600 pounds, or two people.

Per the suit, "on or around" the day before, the team had been instructed "about the proper use of golf carts" and "explicitly told" that the rear seat had a limit of 600 pounds or two people.
