To ignore all numbers stored as text, you need to open the Data tab and select the Text to Columns option. Then, select the Delimited option from the Convert Text to Columns wizard.

Convert Number Cells to Text Highlight the cell or cells on your spreadsheet that you'd like to convert to text. These cells can be empty or filled.

Excel's Convert Text to Columns Wizard works only on one column at a time. If the data is in the first column, for example, click on the letter "A" above the column to select the entire column.

Using the Excel Text to Column feature, you can choose how to split the column up, fix the width, or split at each comma, period, or other characters.
