Google recently released a static Doodle for International Women's Day highlighting women's contributions to scientific fields. The Doodle showcases an illustration with 3D objects representing various scientific disciplines in different colors.

According to UN Women, this year’s International Women’s Day, on March 8, 2025, is celebrated under the theme “For all women and girls: Rights, Equality, Empowerment". The organisation stated that the theme calls for action that can unlock equal rights, power, and opportunities for all and a feminist future where no one is left behind.

It is an official holiday in more than 20 countries, including Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Ukraine, Russia and Cuba, the only one in the Americas.

On March 8 each year, celebrations, commemorations, and marches for women’s gender equality occur from Dallas, Texas, throughout the rest of the world. According to the International Women’s Day website,
