Despite refusing to host the Golden Globe Awards again, comedian Ricky Gervais has revealed the monologue he would deliver if he was to appear at the awards

Ricky Gervais was feeling a little FOMO ahead of the 2025 Golden Globes, so he went ahead and shared some of the jokes he would've told had he hosted the ceremony - and unsurprisingly, he didn't mince words when it came to roasting the likes of Sean "Diddy" Combs and Justin Timberlake.

Ricky Gervais has revealed the ‘brutal’ jokes he would have used if he were hosting this year’s Golden Globes awards. The event, taking place this evening in the US, marks the kick-off to this year’s award season proper, with it only a few months until the Oscars.

Of course, the actual host on Sunday is comedian Nikki Glaser, who is also known for her ability to open fire on celebrities, having performed at several televised roasts (such as last year’s Netflix roast of Tom Brady, which she credits with landing her the Globes hosting gig).

The Golden Globes host always pokes fun at the stars in the crowd, but Ricky Gervais ended up wishing he hadn't taken aim at Tim Allen back in 2011.

Although Ricky Gervais is sitting out another year of the Golden Globes, after last hosting in 2020, he's not letting Hollywood off that easily.
