Lewis worked this offseason with Dr. Jennifer Reiner-Marcello, a reconditioning and performance therapist who formerly worked for the Twins. When he arrived at spring training, he said he was feeling loose, fast, elusive, athletic and bouncy — all the things he wanted to feel.

The Twins traded for Gasper this winter, surely thinking of him as little more than depth to be stashed at St. Paul. Gasper is a journeyman, playing only 13 games at the MLB level despite being 29 years old.
