The 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards are one step closer to taking place. The annual awards ceremony will unveil its 2025 nominees on Wednesday, January 8, with Joey King and “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” breakout star Cooper Koch announcing the nominations.

Actors are finally ready to take center stage in awards season. The SAG Awards are routinely viewed as a key precursor in the Oscars race because the acting branch is the largest group in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

The SAG Awards won't be holding an in-person live nominations announcement on Wednesday, Jan. 8, rather they'll be issuing a press release due to the raging fire in Los Angeles.
