You can suspend BitLocker protection in the OS. If you do that it should let you pull the drive out/put a new drive in without issue. Control Panel - Bitlocker - Suspend.
So I did that, but then bitlocker wanted a recovery key every time I booted. So I suspended bitlocker until I was done rebooting frequently (getting RAM clock settings back to where I wanted them).
