It was a day of many titles for the two University of Iowa wrestling programs at the 2024 Soldier Salute. With Session’s III and IV finally completed on Monday evening, over half of the first-place winners were Hawkeyes.

The Iowa men’s and women’s wrestling program opened competition in dominant fashion at the Soldier Salute inside Xtream Arena in Coralville on Sunday. The tournament, held over two days, pits seeded wrestlers against one another at the usual weight classes in a chase for first place.

Half-a-hundred athletes from the two University of Iowa wrestling programs took the mat Sunday at the 2024 Soldier Salute. You read that correctly. An even 50 Hawkeyes competed – either attached or unattached – across two sessions totaling roughly eight hours of wrestling at Xtream Arena in Coralville.

The Iowa men’s and women’s wrestling teams took home 12 total champions between both programs at the Soldier Salute inside Xtream Arena in Coralville on Monday. The No. 2 men sent nine wrestlers to the finals at the end of the two-day tournament,

CORALVILLE, Iowa (12/29/24) – The University of Wyoming wrestling team completed Day 1 of the Soldier Salute Tournament on Sunday inside Xtreme Arena. Three Cowboys advanced to Monday’s semifinals, while another three are still alive on the consolation side of the bracket.

The 2024 college wrestling calendar has one final event in the Soldier Salute. Even better, all four Division I programs in the state of Iowa competed with the Iowa men, Iowa women, Iowa State and UNI wrestling all sending wrestlers to Xtream Arena.
