Vivek Ramaswamy, a successful entrepreneur in pharmaceutical industry, is setting his sights on transforming the Ohio River Valley into a leading economic hub.

Ohio currently has a graduated individual income tax rate, which means how much you pay is based on how much you earn. Rates range from 0 percent for those on low incomes, 2.75 percent for those earning under $100,000 per year, and 3.5 percent for the highest earners.

Vivek Ramaswamy is proposing to eliminate the state income tax in his bid to be governor of Ohio, which is one of only 15 states permits local income taxes.
