The New Avengers just need a little more practice before they lead a whole ’nother mission. The next two planned Avengers movies, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, were postponed by Marvel on May 22.
To be clear, Chris Pratt is just joking and isn’t confirming his appearance in Avengers: Doomsday. If his chair wasn’t there, it’s because he either isn’t in the movie, or Marvel doesn’t want us to know he is, and either way, Pratt is pretty good about not letting the cat out of the bag, unlike some other MCU actors we could mention.
Marvel's reshuffling has also shaken up Disney's broader release schedule. "The Devil Wears Prada 2" will now snag "Avengers: Doomsday's" original May 2026 spot as an early summer headliner.
Marvel Studios has pushed back the release dates of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Doomsday is being delayed from May 1st, 2026, to December 18th, 2026. Secret Wars’s release has been pushed from May 7th, 2027 to December 17th, 2027.
Doomsday is limited, but fans are hyped about seeing various superhero teams crossover and interact. The Thunderbolts* ending revealed that the titular team was actually the New Avengers, and will be returning to the big screen next year.
A new leak from the set of Avengers: Doomsday implies the new Marvel movie will return to a familiar MCU location: Madripoor. Footage shared on Instagram (via Reddit ), reportedly from the movie's set in London, shows the buildings in the fictional city, including a sign with the place name on it.
