The AP issued an apology to Babyface on Monday after people online criticized reporters at the outlet for cutting their Grammys red carpet interview off.

In a viral clip of the awkward exchange, the "When Can I See You" singer - looking dapper in a jewel-encrusted suit jacket and black shades - is only a few words into his answer to a question while speaking to The Associated Press when the 26-year-old pop star walks by behind him.

Chappell Roan had a big night at the Grammys, starting when she stepped onto the red carpet, and reporters interviewing Babyface cut him off to talk to her.
