Canada will remove retaliatory tariffs on USMCA-compliant U.S. goods in an effort to restart trade talks with President Donald Trump's administration.

Canada will remove some of its retaliatory levies on U.S. goods, Prime Minister Mark Carney said Friday, the latest concession from Ottawa in its effort to jump-start stalled negotiations on a new trade and security partnership with Washington.

Canada’s leader said he would follow the United States in dropping tariffs against American goods covered by the existing free trade agreement.
