Firefighters have made significant progress on day five of battling the Eaton Fire, which continues to burn in the Altadena and Pasadena areas. By Saturday morning, containment had reached 15%, up from just 3% shortly after midnight.

The death toll for the Eaton Fire was revised from eight to six deaths. It has become one of the top 20 most destructive wildfires in the state.

The Eaton fire surpassed 14,000 acres Friday and was 15% contained as of Saturday morning. It has burned more than 7,000 structures, including homes, apartment or commercial buildings and vehicles. It also substantially damaged five school campuses in Altadena and scorched more than 21 square miles.
