The Gifford Fire in Southern California has burned over 82,000 acres and prompted evacuations in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. Mandatory evacuations are in place for specific zones in both counties, with additional areas under evacuation warnings.

Evacuation orders have been issued as a large brush fire burns east of Anza in the Ribbonwood area of Riverside County. As of 11 a.m. on Tuesday, crews said the fire was still 5% contained after firefighters on the ground and in night-flying helicopters battled the blaze overnight,
