Hide your hockey sticks because Happy Gilmore 2 finally hits Netflix this week, and the return of Adam Sandler’s anger-prone golfer can’t come quick enough. Released back in 1996, the first Happy Gilmore arrived amid a much different - and arguably much more varied - pop-culture landscape.
Bowen is reprising her role as Virginia Venit in the sequel to Adam Sandler's Happy Gilmore about a hockey player turned professional golfer who takes the sport by storm. She isn't the only notable name reprising a role, as Sandler returns as the main character, Christopher McDonald returns as Shooter McGavin and Ben Stiller returns as Hal.
July is a big month for Netflix comedies with "Happy Gilmore 2" making it debut on July 25, almost 30 years after the original's release. (Bizarrely, Netflix is pulling the first "Happy Gilmore" from the platform just days later on July 30.
