A regular South Carolina Education Lottery player got the thrill of winning a big jackpot, and her reaction was caught on video.

The Quad Cities lottery luck has struck again! Debora Dunn of Bettendorf won a $500,000 jackpot, the second top prize in the “Mega Bucks” scratch game. She bought her winning ticket at Kwik Star, 3510 Belmont Road in Bettendorf and claimed her prize at Iowa Lottery headquarters in Clive on Monday.

A jackpot-winning TAKE 5 ticket worth more than $29,000 was recently sold in New York state, according to lottery officials. The New York Lottery announced one top prize-winning ticket worth $29,444.50 was sold for the evening drawing on Sunday, Jan. 5. It was sold at M&Z Express, located at 969 Bay St., in Rochester.

“We know that many people will likely receive tickets to Friday’s drawing as holiday gifts, and what a gift that would turn out to be if you ended up with a ticket worth a $1.15 billion jackpot,” Joshua Johnston, lead director for the Mega Millions Consortium, said in a news release before the jackpot rose again to $1.22 billion.

Just before the ball dropped for 2025, an Illinois Lottery player won a $2.6 million jackpot in the state's lottery app.

A Gaston County woman took a chance on a $1 Cash 5 ticket and won a $100,000 jackpot. Lottery officials say Shelia Autry bought her lucky ticket from Dallas Mini Mart on East Trade Street in Dallas. Her ticket matched all five numbers in Wednesday’s drawing to win the jackpot.

The lottery jackpot was an estimated $220 million with a cash option of $98.4 million for Monday night's drawing, according to the Powerball website. The jackpot was last won on Dec. 7 when a New York lottery player won a $256 million Powerball jackpot.
