Nine years after a gunman opened fire in an LGBTQ+-friendly nightclub in Florida, bullet holes can be seen in walls.

The Charleston community is preparing to mark 10 years since nine people were killed in a mass shooting at Mother Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman, a Harvard Kennedy School alumna, was remembered by faculty this weekend following her tragic death. Hortman and her husband, Mark, were shot and killed early Saturday morning at their home.

The shooting happened on June 1, 2025, at a large house party on Walnut Acres Drive, where nearly 100 people had gathered.
