The current game reached some impressive jackpots. The record was set on Aug. 8, 2023, when a ticket worth $1.6 billion was sold in Florida. The jackpot topped $1 billion six other times, most recently in December, when a prize of $1.269 billion was won in California.

Just last week, the Ohio Lottery also said two other tickets won $10,000 in the Mega Millions. Information detailing where in Ohio the lucky tickets were purchased was not immediately released.
This prize adjustment is only the second time the Mega Millions has adjusted the prize in 20 years and the first change since 2017.
It was a lucky night for a Mega Millions player in Illinois who bought the winning ticket, worth an estimated $344 million. This is the first time the Mega Millions jackpot has been won since Jan. 17, when a ticket in Arizona won the $112 million prize. The jackpot will now reset to $20 million ahead of Friday night's drawing.
