The NFL is reportedly investigating the prank call Shedeur Sanders received as he slid to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft. As Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk explained, Sanders—who was eventually drafted in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns—said he received a phone directly from the NFL to use during the draft.

During the NFL draft, Shedeur Sanders, one of football’s biggest draft prospects, received a call saying he was picked up by the New Orleans Saints, but the call turned out to be a prank. Sanders was later selected by the Cleveland Browns as the 144th overall pick in the fifth round.
